Tehri Garhwal - An Underrated Destination
Now the title might seem like a biased opinion since the place is my hometown...
Tehri dam is renowned as the largest and highest dam in Asia and is considered as the 10th tallest dam in the world harnessing water from Bhilangana and Bhagirathi, the two essential rivers in the Himalayas.
New Tehri enjoys pleasant weather throughout the year although the best time for a visit is between April to June and October to December when it receives snow.
The best way to get from Delhi to Tehri Dam is to fly from Delhi to Jollygrant Airport(Dehradun) which takes a half hour. from there it's a 2h 30m Drive to New Tehri Town. Alternatively, you can Take Train/Bus from Delhi to Rishikesh.
It has 1,847 revenue villages and 2,508 clusters.

The Tehri Dam of Uttarakhand is the highest dam in India, 2nd highest in Asia and 8th highest in World.
I've visited on Christmas weekend with one of my friend in a Hamlet of Uttarakhand to rejuvenate ourselves. Mesmerized with the beauty n peace of this place.
