Narendra Nagar
Narendranagar is a town and a municipal board in Tehri Garhwal District in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It was the capital of Tehri kingdom in past and is now renowned forthe palace that was turned into a world-class spa resort. Being a scarcely populated place, there are few budget guesthouses in Narendra Nagar in addition to Ananda Spa Resort –aforementioned luxury spa and wellness resort.The present town of Narendra Nagar came into existence in 1919, when Maharaja Narendra Shah of Tehri Garhwal moved his capital from Tehri to the picturesque location of Odathali or Narendra Nagar. The last Maharaja, Manabendra Shah took over the control of Tehri Garhwal in 1946, from Maharaja Narendra Shah.
